WWRY : Forget Her

A música que vou partilhar chama-se Forget Her, é do Jeff Buckley, do álbum Grace: Legacy Edition, de 2004.
Jeff Buckley foi um cantor e guitarrista, que como tantos outros músicos, morreu muito novo, com apenas 30 anos, vítima de um afogamento acidental, como tal apenas lançou dois álbuns: Grace e Sketches for My Sweetheart the Drunk.
Curiosamente esta música não fez parte de nenhum deles. Foi criada para o Grace, mas o cantor acabou por não a incluir no álbum, preferindo que dele fizesse parte o tema So Real, o que gerou muita controvérsia.
Anos depois da sua morte, em 2004, foi lançado o Grace: Legacy Edition, onde já estava incluído o tema.
Como a música não tinha sido oficialmente lançada, e só foi dada a conhecer depois da morte do Jeff Buckley, foi feito um videoclip oficial a partir de vídeos inéditos de momentos de gravação.

Esta música, para mim, é sobre uma relação conflituosa, vivida pelo cantor, que acabou, mas que mesmo depois de acabar o continua a "assombrar" pelo que este não se conforma.
Possivelmente uma relação ou com uma prostituta, ou com uma groupie, algo comum no mundo da música...

Primeiramente o cantor passeia-se pelas ruas desertas, para tentar curar a dor que sente pela relação que tinha com a mulher que ama ter acabado, quando no fundo sabe que a dor que sente não é por ter acabado tudo, mas por nunca vir a poder resultar, pois ela não vai mudar.

Segue-se um momento de reflexão, em que o cantor relembra toda a relação e conclui que já desde o princípio deveria ter percebido que não iria resultar:

"Don't fool yourself,
She was heartache from the moment that you met her."

Com este pensamento na cabeça, mas ainda de coração partido, o cantor tenta convencer-se de que tem de a esquecer, o que parece ser impossível:

"My heart is frozen still
As I try to find the will to forget her, somehow.
She's somewhere out there now."

Os sentimentos são muitos:

Raiva e desilusão pelo fato de se sentir traído:

"Well my tears falling down as I try to forget,
Her love was a joke from the day that we met.
All of the words, all of her men,
All of my pain when I think back to when."

Desespero e negação pelo fato de ainda a amar:

"Remember her hair as it shone in the sun,
The smell of the bed when I knew what she'd done.
Tell yourself over and over
You won't ever need her again."

Conseguimos ver estes sentimentos contraditórios todos misturados (como estão na cabeço do cantor), na seguinte estrofe, sendo o último versão completamente irónico... :

"Don't fool yourself,
She was heartache from the moment that you met her.
My heart feels so still
As I try to find the will to forget her, somehow.
Oh I think I've forgotten her now."

Concluindo, o cerne da música é a confusão de sentimentos que se tem quando se ama alguém que não se deveria amar.
